Privacy Policy

This policy will be reviewed by legal counsel before launch.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password (stored as a cryptographic hash, never in plain text).
  • Restaurant data: Equipment names and types, staff names, staff PINs (stored as hashes), location names.
  • Temperature logs: Temperature readings, timestamps, corrective actions, and associated metadata.
  • Corrective action photos: Images uploaded as evidence during corrective action workflows.
  • Billing information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full card details on our servers.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
  • We do not embed third-party ad trackers or analytics pixels.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
  • We do not track your browsing behavior outside of the KitchenTemp application.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the KitchenTemp service (temperature logging, reports, alerts).
  • To generate PDF reports and inspector QR links.
  • To send operational notifications (sync status, subscription updates, alerts).
  • To improve the product (aggregated, anonymized usage patterns only).

We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data retained indefinitely while your account is active.
  • Cancelled accounts: Read-only access to your data for 2 years after cancellation.
  • Data deletion: You may request permanent deletion at any time. We provide 90 days notice before any scheduled data deletion.

Your Rights

  • Access: View all your data within the application at any time.
  • Export: Download your data as CSV or PDF from the application settings.
  • Correction: Update your account information and restaurant data at any time.
  • Deletion: Request complete account and data deletion by contacting privacy@kitchentemp.com.

Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes to this privacy policy at least 30 days in advance via email. Continued use of KitchenTemp after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
